SailPoint makes software to help organizations manage and secure digital identities and access to resources. Their products ensure compliance, streamline access controls, and reduce security risks related to user identities and access permissions.

Update the current interactive product demo experience to better illustrate the common but complex identity security needs and highlight how SailPoint can resolve them.

Why was the redesign needed?

Based on user testing, we discovered:

The previous interactive demo experience lacked scalability, as it didn’t offer users the ability to filter demos by product or use case. This resulted in a frustrating, endless scrolling experience where users had to hunt for relevant use cases.

Iconography wasn’t tailored specifically for each demo; some demos shared the same icons, causing confusion among users.

There were no descriptions explaining the content of each demo, leaving some users uncertain about what to expect when clicking into them.

Filter functionality 

The filtering feature empowers users to sort demos based on product type and specific use cases. This enables users to discover demos tailored to their needs and understand how SailPoint can address their individual needs effectively. 

The filters also ensure that this experience remains seamless as Product Marketing Managers intend to expand the range of cards available with our growth.

Cards with customizable imagery and descriptions

The updated card design enabled our Senior Graphic Designer to craft custom images illustrating each interactive demo, offering users greater clarity prior to clicking.

The revised card layout also permitted Product Marketing Managers to include descriptions on each interactive demo card, providing users with additional context before clicking.

The Design System

When envisioning the new interactive demo card, I aimed to ensure that the component seamlessly accommodates custom imagery and text, automatically adapting from desktop to mobile screens. This streamlined the process for graphic designers to incorporate their custom images into each interactive demo card.

Metrics

The revamped interactive demo experience led to an 11% surge in engagement rates and a remarkable 675% increase in live demo form submissions on the refreshed page.
